No, fiat rails are necessary because they integrate the future payment system into the current payment system, and help vendors future proof their businesses. A Multi-coin future includes Fiat since it's also a currency. People should absolutely try to crypto, and goldback pill as many local vendors, and small businesses as possible but most people aren't going to risk their entire networth over some person telling them about The Global Banking Cartel. Fiat works perfectly fine for most, they believe the lie that they just need more of it but don't have a single clue on how to build real value or wealth. I don't care, I'm not going to force people, I've already done my part, and tried to contribute but everyone said they don't care about real Multi-coin adoption, most people are Fiat Maxis looking to pump their Fiat bags for their Fiat Shitcoins like Bitcoin, Monero, and Z-cash, etc.

Your point on multi-crypto adoption is fair. Though, this transition has to be fueled by self-custody, not ease-of-use. We'll just loose the fight if we try to fight for convinience : -Fiat is the default -Self-custody is uncompliant We have to promote Xmr and Bitcoin to merchants as sound and permissioneless money, not as programmable and easy to use cash.
