Bitcoin Arithmetic #3 – Peer-to-Peer Money
Normally, when you send money on the internet, it goes through a bank. The bank is like the teacher in class who says, “Yes, you can trade toys.” Without the teacher, the trade doesn’t happen.
Satoshi wanted to remove the teacher. He wanted people to be able to send money directly to each other, just like handing over a toy in person. This is called peer-to-peer.
Bitcoin is money that doesn’t need a bank, a company, or even a teacher to say “okay.” The system itself makes sure it’s fair.
