@Fabian can the ‘Restrict Images’ setting be expanded from just ‘Following’ to a drop-down of:
Following
Within Web of Trust
Global
I often find ‘Restrict images to following’ too restrictive, but global too much.

On the Web of Trust setting, reposts from follows should automatically show image regardless of whether the profile of the reposted note is in your Web of Trust
