Had a great talk with @desert dave yesterday. He helped me realize true security in bitcoin is derived from using it as a medium of exchange instead of hoarding it in the hopes the value goes to some dollar amount one day. If you have frequent economic interactions with your friends and neighbors, your physical needs will be met, and your community will be very self-sufficient as a whole. So you don’t need millions of dollars to retire one day, since your interactions with your family and community will take care of you. This is the economy we will try to build in Cochise County, AZ!

I’m just saying there are multiple ways to achieving those dreams financially, and smaller and more frequent transactions with people you actually know is another way of getting there. Plus there is no big honeypot for hackers to steal, and I think there are other social benefits as well
We are extremely fortunate to have a very strong community of opt out builders here who love freedom, so I’m interested to see if Nostr and Bitcoin will get some traction. That’s where the real magic will happen

This cycle will repeat until we let go of the past. It will take time. But if that isn't the goal, I am not sure what Bitcoin is for.
You clearly used hoarding as a negative in your initial post. Now you're running to a dictionary and blame shifting, in contradiction to your first use. It's "only a pejorative" because you framed it that way.
