Counterpoint: they’ve always been lefty socialists.

In the 90's they (or at least Zach DLR) started out more as zapatistas which was more libertarian/anarchistic than socialist. Rules not rulers vibes. Not sure where he ended up in his thinking, but doesn't seem like a great place given the covid stance.. I honestly don't mind the Chiapas experiment to give us more data points of what works and what doesn't in the world we live in
