This reminds me of a conversation I had with me “step father” at the time I was in my 20s.
He was basically telling me to get a job and stop playing world of Warcraft all day.
My excuse at the time was what I call the lazy triangle, I didn’t have a car.
Because I didn’t have any money, because I didn’t have a job, because I didn’t have a car. Etc.
He told me not to allow myself to become a victim of circumstance.
No matter how bad the triangle you find yourself in, of the three, choose the issue you CAN do something about, then make it happen, no matter what.
It’s the only way to escape, and to be come capable, and independent.

It isn’t you vs. the world; it’s you vs. you. You aren’t a victim of your circumstances; you’re lazy. Choosing the easy option is why you lose and don’t achieve what you want to achieve. Do the hard thing you are facing. Fail over and over until you overcome it. And then do the next hard thing.
