I mean you can tunnel just about anything over SSH, ftp is just over SSH. So you want to interact with a filesystem not a database I see...

Okay, you can nostr-auth to an API and transfer the SSH public key, and then you can just use the key after that.
The auth is to prove that you're the npub that should be associated with the SSH key.
