i mean it could be true that Luke is using this to advertise Ocean, and it's not a good idea for us all to run Knots.
I would run a specific version number that wasn't Knots to just show that I'm not onboard with v30 changes.
thank you. so we are just naturally doing what we should be doing then. ok, good. i don't know why so many smart people are putting asterisks on this.
i know by now that it doesn't fix the actual potential that contiguous illicit material goes on the timechain, however if signaling that I don't wan that is all i can do, then i'm going to signal as hard as I can that i don't want that.
i assume that it also makes it harder for miners to slip bad stuff in as well, because they have to
a) win a block
b) coordinate with bad actors and have a file ready when they do win a block
c) leaves a fat trail for legal
versus if we are all just relaying stuff around, and Oops a miner wins a block and accidentally stuffs a bunch of bad stuff in the time chain it's going to happen frequently and via people who are unwitting participants.
yes, that makes it very clear.
some people must just be
1) smart and naive
2) in some jurisdiction that is not the USA
3) attackers
4) bitcoiners who are attacking bitcoin to anneal the protocol for hyperbitcoinization.
it's bizarre now that very smart people that I admire are throwing in character assassination.
Grace Hopper bounced her checking account because she was using Binary to balance, so Luke losing his bitcoins sounds about right.
even if there's a 10 % tithe to the Vatican in knots. i didn't check the code.
yes, more brittle aka temper is the word. i think what you just explained is why some of the smart people don't seem to care because they assume it will just go the way bitcoin chooses to go due to the game theory and that's where we will all end up anyway.
i also wonder if some of them are catalyzing this whole process to just get this discussion out of the way. some of the core team appear to be playing devil's advocate. either that or their arguments are just landing wrong.
and on the bright side this whole kerfuffle takes a chunk out of the technical debt as newbies like me get a kick in the rear to learn more
ohh.. so the plot thickens. i hadn't considered that it was an inside job.
