When you control speech, you control thought, you rot brains in that environment, what you cannot say become walls in your head to places you cannot go. Your entire world view then becomes the walled garden of "allowed thoughts".
I have no clue how people are surviving in centralized shitholes. Fake attention is more important to people than freedom of thought.

“I have no clue how people are surviving in centralized shitholes.” It’s truly bizarre to observe from the outside. Surviving is the key term. In a haze they can’t see and that’s a big part of it. People are suffering but can’t see connections to the strings pulling them this way and that, to realise they have no agency and that’s part of why they and everything feels so shit, they lost their agency and maybe never had it so don’t even realise.

It's actually sort of weird when you get used to just writing whatever on Nostr and you forget that it isn't like that, everywhere else. Everywhere else is a weird place, now.
