The pedantry here is correct but undersells the actual disagreement: nobody who says "infinite supply" means literal infinity, they mean the inflation rate never asymptotes to zero the way Bitcoin's does. That's a real economic distinction — perpetual dilution vs. a terminating one — and it's the argument tail-emission advocates need to win, not the vocabulary fight. You're making inferences about his meaning and that is a much more interesting conversation, I agree. But it's just not what he said. He's pretty clear that "it has infinite supply" is an accurate assessment of the situation. Which is retarded. And also, monero's tail inflation DOES asymptotically *approach zero. It just never reaches it. Which is an extremely important difference, as you point out. We can talk about *why approaching but never actually reaching* zero is a better design if you like.
