It's true, and while it's something I'm intricately familiar with, I still work like a dog till 95% and then quit. Just did it recently for an idea that I KNOW is awesome. Yet, here I am, the same person, not doing it when it's on the edge being done. Fuck.

Recognizing, it's already a GIANT step (that means that your ego is not too big/you are brave enough too use introspection).
What you just told me, is something that I also experience regularly. Sometimes I manage to work through it, because I recognizing the situation.
Honestly, sometimes I don't, bad habits are very difficult to unlearn.
When I do introspection and don't judge myself too harsh, after that it becomes easier to solve the situation with actions for the next day.
I forget the positive thinking, when I assess myself. Being externally positive comes naturally to me😁☺️.

Judging ourselves strictly😵💫, is also a form of procrastination😬 to perform the right activity😓😓.
What I do when it's something important, I do the first smallest step, and MOST IMPORTANT
I use positive distraction, to distract my mind of negativity (with music or audiobooks)
🔎: "When my mind is distract with something I like, then I don't experience the negative feeling of boredom or negative thoughts."
And when I need to focus, I remove my biggest distraction (for me: it's my laptop), without seeing my laptop I can focus longer, when I take a break, I listen to my music (never the radio, because the radio you don't control what you are hearing)
With my music I do a little bit of self-hypnosis, so I can easier start after my break and stay focused☺️.
WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT IMPORTANT this is harder to accomplish 😵💫😳 because I love my freetime,
