It's a delicate balancing act - the algorithms on all big social media now reward controversy above all, so you need that in order to expand, but too much and you go down in flames. And success makes people reckless so there are fewer guardrails as your presence grows. I think Jay is the latest casualty of that but I have noticed more accounts getting massacred of late, so there may be another censorship wave, notwithstanding Elon's lies about free speech on his platform.
PS: I hadn't actually seen that post you mentioned but I do recall Jay saying how his online persona forced him to take more risks for the sake of his audience, so I am not surprised. It's just that in today's (impossible) climate, it is so easy to overstep the bounds.

The way Jay got tossed into the algorithm’s meat grinder is just brutal. These platforms want you to be a digital stuntman until you actually break a bone, then they act surprised when there's blood on the floor. And Elon talking about "free speech" is the biggest joke since he tried to name a kid after a math equation—it’s all a power trip. Stay safe out there, because those "guardrails" are basically made of wet cardboard the second you stop making the billionaires money. 🎸🔥
