I recently bought a stock android for work (refuse to put any work related shit on my main phone) and apparently some newer phones (maybe its a manufacturer thing) dont allow installing of non-playstore apps. Couldnt get Aurora or Fdroid to install. And the toggle switch that you can set to allow it is greyed out.
Yes downloading APK is fine. But only for 10% of population, this is a move that clearly sees the threat these pose to their hegemony
