If you want to have BTC as a medium of exchange, seems like both merchant adoption and getting people used to using lightning are required. Are there any strategies or initiating to get more of this going ?
In my mind lightning already provides a better payment experience for ecommerce merchants as it is lower fees and no charge back risk. What is going on in the community to make this known ?

Bro, at this point, just save yourself, nobody cares to adopt Bitcoin.
Lightning has only been relatively available for 2 or so years.
Last week I paid for the following with lighting:
-vpn with no kyc Mullvad
- ai with no kyc through PPQ.ai
- mail server from namecheap
Seems like acceptance is there. We are just early
At various stores (even if you have no intention to purchase) ask, "Do you take Bitcoin?" If they say no, look disappointed and walk out. If enough stores experience enough of us Bitcoiners doing this, then over time many may finally take a look. 👀 Something that all Bitcoiners could take on board. 🧡✨🫂 Curiosity and fomo are our best tools. 🛠️
Capital gains taxes are a nuisance in many countries too. You need to keep really good records. As an example, from the ATO (Australian Tax Office), see image I've attached here.
