Excommunication means you are "out of communion" with the Church™. To deny any Church™ doctrine, be it true or false, by definition you are out of communion. Protestants are excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church™. The threat of being burned at the stake is not evidence the Church™ is correct, it is evidence you refused to deny what you believe. The council of Nicea's creed was an imperial edict, fiat by power of the emperor, and political in nature. If you believe such systems are divinely determined, you aught to believe in the divine right of kings and the US constitution is illegitimate. Look at the history of Romans 13, you may find the original Greek never granted divine power to secular institutions.

I agree with your comment and thank you for the clarification and added context. I don't have any good understanding of this specific religion, so I'm just making stupid fun with this.
Thank you for that 🙂 Where I come from almost no one is Christian. No one I know there is Christian (or religious for that matter), none of my friends, etc. My family had some bad experience with Christians at one point and so that carries a bit.
Btw, I just happen to be replying this from Vatican. And yes, the irony of that is not lost on me. #vaticanstr image
