Not sure who needs to hear this, To all #bitcoin and Open-Source innovators: whether you’re building hardware or software, here’s a hard truth, you’re on your own. No Bitcoin billionaire is coming to fund your work, and grants are like solo mining Bitcoin on a Bitaxe. Every project you start will likely require you to do everything yourself. Don’t rely on others, until your idea is fully realized, no one will truly care. Even when it’s built, most people will give it a brief glance before moving on. Build for yourself, create something you’re passionate about. Get lost in the excitement of your ideas, because that excitement might be your only reward. Be ready to drain your savings account to zero. This is the reality of Bitcoin and open-source development. But if you’re the developer I think you are, nothing—least of all this message—will stop your work.

I mostly agree. Just one thing. It's probably not going to work out well for you if you do everything yourself. I think this gets mixed up in the ethos of holding your own keys (which you MUST do yourself). When you're building out an idea it's best to collaborate with people who specialize in fields you can't possibly compete in. Maybe you're a Dev, your design skills are probably not good enough. Maybe you want to sell something, your website skills aren't good enough.
The division of labor.
Its still a thing with or without Bitcoin.
Wish I could zap this but I’m wiped out until next week.
This brings many more questions for me to consider as a non-tech expert ( realistically a neophyte 😂 ).
You’re right about no one funding you. Not sure if this thinking is specific to development but that’s not how most of the world works. Massive respect 🫡
