**Pistorius and Hegseth sign defense cooperation pact**
The two ministers signed a declaration of intent in Washington covering joint development, production, licensing and maintenance of defense goods, supply-chain resilience and eased technology-transfer rules. It names the Patriot missile production in Germany and Germany's preliminary Tomahawk purchase, agreed at NATO's Ankara summit in July, as flagship projects. Pistorius travels on to New York to meet Guterres.

**Pistorius in Washington on F-35, Patriot cooperation**
Defense Minister Pistorius met Pentagon chief Hegseth on Tuesday to discuss F-35 fighter-jet cooperation, days after Lockheed Martin handed over Germany's first of 35 ordered jets, and plans to build Patriot air-defense missiles in Germany. He then travels to New York for talks with UN Secretary-General Guterres.
