Filters work in the same way a tall fence and guard dog works. They can't stop every possible attack, but they deter most and raise the cost of success. We should be adding filters, not removing them. And all filters should be configurable. Power to the nodes.

If there is anyone NOT pushing mining centralization, it's @Luke Dashjr and the others at @OCEAN, who don't even require individual miners to use their block templates. I can run Knots with whatever datacarrier limit I want and mine on OCEAN, generating my own block templates. Yeah, I am a nobody home miner, but large scale miners can do exactly the same.
If I want to run a bitaxe and receive the few satoshis earned (not lotto mine), am I required to use knots? If so, this feels like coercion. I hope there will be another solution. I wish to continue using bitcoin core. Over time I have come to appreciate the judgment of multiple bitcoin core devs. I trust that judgement for what is best for bitcoin's success (to remain secure and decentralized) way more then I do that of the two primary proponents of knots.

I'm glad you have the option to run whatever node software you prefer. But I'm not talking about intentions, I'm talking about consequences: image
Thank you! ๐Ÿ™ This is good news! I will continue waiting to setup my bitaxe to mine with datum & ocean on startos until possible with core. Choice is good โค
