1. Central bank of Iran has used stablecoins to avoid sanctions since 2024. ✅️
2. IRGC has had USDT since 2025. ✅️
3. USDT and USC wallets have been blocked due to Chainanalysis tying them to Iran ✅️
4. Houthis were using stablecoins in 2025 ✅️
5. Rumours of Hormuz toll booth accepting USDT ❓️ - unverified so far

This Reuters piece is from Feb 2026.
It makes a lot of sense considering how the IRR evaporated. Many iranians were forced to look for solutions.
Stablecoins were the easy (and wrong) path.
