Incentive to running a personal is that you have the ability to relay your own notes. You don’t have to rely on other people to post your own notes. Risks. Not too many. With a private relay you’re the only one that can write to it. Risks are completely different with public relays

You want to own your content, run your own relay. Some even have handy backup features like Haven where you can back up to AWS or Digital Ocean.
