Hedonism will lead us to slavery.
Slaves were not allowed to have families, family is power. A person with a big family will probably have all he needs within it, no need for external government or protection.
So slaves in the past were put in giant orgies to reproduce once a year, nobody knew who was the father - > no family = full control.
