It's the outliers, always has been. Solutions can not come from where or how you've been searching. If they could they would already been found.
You must step outside your own constraints, mirror the image, flip the table, introduce some randomness.
My personal favorite is when the solutions to problems simply involve a change of your frame of reference.
For example in architecture, when there is one large issue with the project you spent months fighting, then it turns out to be the defining feature.
It's you that had to change your perspective in order to see it.
