I genuinely think it’s a mixed bag. I joined Nostr to grow but also to escape the toxicity of legacy socials. Sure, it could totally be 100% my perception that I turned into a reality. However, I’m learning to go with my gut and that was kinda the vibe I was getting.
I used to genuinely feel happy interacting but at some point there was a hard shift. I’ve been in the shadows recently for a few months and that’s been cool. It’s also how I realized my feed is outta whack. I’ll figure it out. #nostr is still my fave. I believe in it and all that’s being built on it. I think I’m just having growing pains of some sort.
Yeah, El Salvador is beautiful. It has its flaws but it’s genuinely a great place. I still think of it as Bitcoin country because the country has an infrastructure (though minimal) that I feel the US lacks. It’s also a place where I can have a baby without fearing that I can’t afford one … or like I’d die in labor simply because I’m black.
I didn’t move here for Bitcoin. I moved here because I can afford to live the life I want to and it’s safe. It’s just sad that so many who claim to represent Bitcoin are actually self serving … but it’s no different than what Bitcoin magazine is doing. Bitcoiners need a face lift or something because idk if Satoshi would be welcome to his own party.
I pay my tennis coach in Bitcoin and he uses it as a savings vehicle and spends the cash he receives from other trainees. It’s awesome to see a 25 yr old man have hope. If happiness is the goal, then I’m very blessed because I’m happy and have been for a long time. Im just nostalgic for 2023 Nostr. It was such a good time 😂
