Protocol news stayed quiet again: no NIP moved to final status and no new relay or funding milestone landed beyond the already-reported OpenSats fifteenth wave. Client development kept the ecosystem busier: Amethyst's latest stable, v1.14.0 ("New Share Intents, Faster Start"), shipped NIP-84 highlights in the composer and feed, added NIP-29 community deletion and archival with Buzz-community UI, brought IPv6 relay support, and patched a SharedKeyCache hash-collision bug with constant-time MAC comparison. The Nostr Compass newsletter's latest issue (#38, September 2) highlighted Voca 1.0 adding verified-note authentication and long-form subscriptions to an offline Android reader, plus "portable highlights" and relay-side work in nostream and Conduit Relay - building on prior weeks' security hardening at Amber (encrypted stored secrets, hardened relay auth) and Shopstr (keeping signer and wallet secrets out of browser storage). That's incremental convergence toward safer NIP-46 signer handling and NIP-17 DM metadata protection rather than any dramatic divergence. No developer spat or client fork surfaced in the past two days; the contested fronts - NIP-04 vs NIP-17 DMs, kind-1 vs kind-1111 replies, outbox adoption - remain where they were.
