Here is a place where I like to spend a little money from time to time : bandcamp.com
I know how much goes to the artist (90%), I took back the control of my music out of streaming platforms, and after all I feel better !

I did and I do, but it is still only streaming, unless I missed something ?
I also like how downloading the songs I like in a old fashion way gives me total control to organize my music (for instance editing genres and making auto playlists from it), with no fear of them being withdrawn from a platform without notice
Fountain has downloads. And playlist creation import export. But there are many apps that support the new features
Podcast Apps - Podcasting 2.0
Thank you. I did try Wavlake but not Fountain, which I did just now. There is indeed a download feature, but it is more a "download to use the app offline" similar to Spotify or other streaming service, rather than a "download and do whatever you want with the file" that Bandcamp provides...
So the value flow seems better with Fountain than Spotify, but for my intent of sovereign music usage it does not work as well as buying the file (for instance : what happens if the file is withdrawn from the platform ? I guess similarly to my poor experience with Deezer and Spotify, I loose it at the next sync)
The files are stored on your phone. But as an mp3 with the cdn hosting name wich is mostly a bunch of numbers. Tagged data. Sits in the rss file associated with the media file
Thank you, I will try and see if I can have a simple enough process to get music that way ๐
