Jesus (Iēsous) told us to… Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. (Luke 6:27–28)
And remember that… no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3:15)
How does YHWH match up to this?
YHWH sends a flood to destroy all living creatures except Noah, his family, and representatives of each animal.
YHWH rains down fire and brimstone, destroying Sodom, Gomorrah, and surrounding cities.
YHWH strikes down every firstborn in Egypt during the Passover.
YHWH drowns Pharaoh’s army in the Red Sea.
YHWH commands the Levites to kill idol-worshipers after the golden calf incident, and a plague follows.
YHWH causes the earth to swallow Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and their households, and fire consumes 250 rebels. A subsequent plague kills more for complaining.
YHWH sends venomous snakes to kill Israelites for complaining.
YHWH commands Israel to destroy Canaanite cities (e.g., Jericho, Ai) as judgment for their sin.
YHWH kills Er for wickedness and Onan for disobedience.
YHWH sends fire to kill Aaron’s sons for offering unauthorized fire.
YHWH strikes Uzzah dead for touching the ark.
YHWH commands Saul to destroy all Amalekites, including men, women, children, and livestock. Population unknown but likely thousands.
YHWH’s angel kills 185,000 Assyrian soldiers to protect Jerusalem.
That’s approximately 1,188,117–6,392,017 deaths attributed to YHWH’s direct action or command.
Orthodoxy would have you believe all those deaths are due to “justice”, but what does Jesus (Iēsous) tell us about His Father?
…love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. (Luke 6:35–36)
Remember that we only know the Father/Most High via Jesus (Iēsous) alone. All others are thieves and robbers.
