This is an important concept.
“Then pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.”
What is Jesus saying here? If the world has provided the thing to you, then you are responsible to the world for it. If it is something God provides then you are answerable to God for it. God created everything, so He is the one you answer to ultimately. If your government or your company, or even your family demand something of you that they have provided you, then you have an Earthly obligation to them and you should honor it IF it does not conflict with your obligation to God. God takes priority every time.
When in doubt, God wins out...
This video has some interesting details I had never heard before. It shines a bright light onto things that should be illuminated. It was new to me...

"You’ve probably heard the story: ‘Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s.’ But almost nobody asks the most important question — Why does Jesus ask to see that coin? And why inside the Temple? Something deeper is going on here, friends. This isn’t just about taxes - and once you see what Jesus is really doing, it will challenge every one of us, even to this day."
