Mine still works after years but that may be because I got a stool for when I want to sit so it rarely goes up and down.

That's good to hear. Mine was not used much but when I do I have to adjust it every time.
I have become skeptical about it after mine broke. So I am trying a manual. Waiting for it to arrive and crossing my fingers it will last longer this time 😬🤞☺️
