It's great to have a variety of ways to carry the baby without always needing bulky. Stretchy slings in particular allow for a variety of hold, can adapt as the baby grows, and keeps her snug against the parent so that she can be part of everyday movement and activity, which is great for the parents and the child. I don't know what's on the market today but I bet there are some decent materials available.
