People’s natural inclination is to give people the benefit of the doubt. It is a kind of natural, pro-social empathy that is in most contexts a positive feature of society. In the natural order of a pre-20th century European village it creates a better world where everyone forgives transgressions and helps one another. But in instances like this I absolutely urge you to harden your heart and suppress this instinct. Because Odell is an incredibly manipulative scammer that used the facade of @OpenSats to pretend he was doing charitable work when in fact he was engaging in anticompetitive and suppressive behavior to attack competitors to his Ten31 venture capital portfolio. Even after the ColdCard fiasco, he was engaging in the exact same corrupt behavior minutes later, retweeting offers of an “innovative” Bitcoin wallet, Bitkey, even though it has insane risks attached to biometrics and inheritance, simply because he is financially connected to the people responsible.
Your empathetic instincts to humanize scammers are a good thing, but they are bad in this context. Because Odell is just trying to go hide until people forget all the scamming he did and hoping that nobody digs up more about the shit he was doing with NVK and Miljan. I am certain at this point he was hiring shills to attack people who criticized Primal, for example. It’s not just childishness, it is a kind of bald-faced greedy manipulativeness that has resulted in people losing 100 million dollars, and Nostr and Bitcoin being egregiously sabotaged for private gain.
nvk literally invited me to his house with his *neighbour* miljan and their investor odell and tried to bring me into their little scammy cabal. Clown face me all you want retard.
