Making the first real life contact with Monero ( #xmr ) community. 🫣
Got a non-custodial XMR wallet and we’ll see how this experience feels like.
N.B. - From privacy perspective this should be a better option than zaps when talking about tiny tips/donations. 😉

Did you get Skylight?
No because seems to require sharing your private view key with an LWS.
I read non-custodial completely wrong.
FYI if you run and connect to your own LWS you're not trusting anyone with your privacy and have no sync time. I havent tried it myself yet but @Soul Reaver has:

Thank you. For every crypto it’s better to run your own node, compile and run your own wallet, save and backup offline whatever *.dat file your coins are stored into.
Oh this is interesting…
It takes a bit of tinkering, I did some modifications on the article, kept this copy up to date:

Skylight Monero Wallet (MAGIC Grants), monero-lws, TX notifier
Been running Skylight wallet (by MAGIC Grants) pointed at my own monero-lws instance for a few days now.
For self custody, it seems to be great
But MAGIC Grants is fedded. Justin Ehrenhofer is a fed, works with the Feds, and has no business funding or giving grants to Monero developers. The same reason I speak out against Zcash I’ll speak out against MAGIC.
1 pr and update, your TX history and anonymity is gone. It’s one thing to trust devs who constantly push even more privacy. It’s another to trust an entity whose head is seeking to deanon Monero for “lawful purposes”. Couple with the incoming CARROT viewkeys (which I support), this is a bad recipe in the making.
