I was working on a Greek island then and distinctly remember a big fight, basically a US guy was dealing out about something and shouting ‘you can’t do that, I’m an American citizen’ which lead to him getting a pasting from the locals… thus proving they could do that lol. I can’t remember what actually sparked it off but afterwards folks were talking about America more generally. Up until then I thought the USA was all Disney and Nike trainers.
