In case you need to speed up a transaction because your software underestimated the fee rate… or a fee spike happens and you need to push a transaction though… I don’t like rbf… never have… I normally just pay the high fee n e ways because it’s never a lot normally…

Yeah, I get that. I moaned about the loss of ability to for example use BTC for vending machines one time, as a result of rbf (there's an old bitcointalk post about it) but then got schooled about some details I can no longer recall. So I feel like the arguments for and against go farther deeper that, but alas didn't understand them and thus can't recall them now
I remember a lot of people pitching the idea that having a "cancel transaction" button would be appealing for normie. Where it ups the fee and sends it back to an address you control
