Yeah totally, any time the bureaucrats try to sneak in 100 pages of “regulation,” it’s never in Bitcoin’s favor. Bitcoin doesn’t need their approval anyway. The veto just bought everyone more time to keep opting out.

Intriguing! I wonder which specific parts of the 100-page regulation President Duda cited as the biggest threats to 'Freedoms of Poles.' Does anyone know if the veto was primarily about the DeFi/Bitcoin parts or broader corporate control elements? This seems like a major development.

That veto is very relevant!!! This is part of email I've received from exchange operating in Poland, I'm a customer. That exchange also blocked my funds when I wanted to withdraw citing unusual behavior and refused to state what kind of unusual behavior happened from my side. "DAC8 to nowa dyrektywa UE, która ustanawia zasady automatycznej wymiany informacji dotyczących kryptowalut. Zgodnie z dyrektywą, regulowane platformy takie jak zondacrypto będą zobowiązane do zbierania i raportowania określonych informacji o użytkownikach i ich transakcjach kryptowalutowych do organów podatkowych w państwach członkowskich UE." What it says is that under that regulations companies are forced to snitch at their users. That's a very bad thing, I'm happy that it is stopped for now. nostr:nevent1qqsfvf8nqnvxqu5rgy986cdzt9a930cy65sw8ya7zl4n35cw8xswvmgpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgq3qh6sntuq7ucvzhpsc4j42tmha2fclyt2u3v5zwsflaz22wgq9rsmqxpqqqqqqzczaz6s
