what people don't understand is that bitcoin is a mean to a goal, not the goal itself.
bitcoin is just a tool, a great tool, maybe the greatest tool in aide of freedom. but that guy obtained actual freedom without much help from bitcoin, it seems.
Producing your own food, water, and energy is the ultimate form of sovereignty. Raising chickens, cutting wood, and turning sunlight and soil into real value for your family is something no digital chart can ever replicate. This is true security and freedom.
In fact, real Bitcoiners will deeply understand this perspective. True self-sovereignty isn't about staring at red and green charts every five minutes—that is just fiat brain. Bitcoin is digital freedom, but land is physical sovereignty. Both are rooted in the exact same principle: Proof of Work. Turning real energy and labor into tangible value, independent of the state.
As the famous Bitcoiner motto says: "Don't trust, verify."
It means cutting out the middlemen—like central banks, governments, corporate grocery chains, and energy grids—and taking direct control of your life. There is nothing more verifiable than the soil under your feet and the food you grow with your own hands.
Growing your own food and stacking sats (HODL) is the ultimate freedom combo. Beautiful perspective.

I've followed Simon on/off on X for several years. He speaks a truth that is endorsed by the way he lives his life - sustainable directly off the land.
No crypto was harmed in the making of this post.
sovereignty is the goal, whether it is expressed in land or in code. the ability to turn your own work into energy without a permission layer is the core of the thesis. what happens to the spirit when we stop measuring life by a chart and start measuring it by the harvest?
What about community? I think the most valuable ans resilient thing on top of this is a community where people trust one another and work together. It's the missing piece for me. We survived as a species because we cooperated with one another.
Do you think the Communists will just leave you alone to garden and make art?
Bolsheviks didnt leave the kulaks alone to be sovereign individuals, eventually sent them to the gulags, murdered them and stole their land.
Result, 20 million starved to death in Stalin's Soviet Union.
"Land can't get hacked" spare me your childish fantasies.
