Why do people look back at high school so fondly? Maybe it’s a shared trauma? We were all collectively going through the same prison system. Similar to soldiers in the trenches. It’s a shit experience but when they come back home they find themselves wanted to go back.

I look back fondly at the time I had with friends outside of high school. I recognized in high school that it was a system to train us for slavery and illogical tyranny.
I went to a small Catholic HS in the midwest, in the 90s, so maybe that affects it, but we had a blast. I hated leaving. My kids are both there now, and I’m on the board and in the booster club.
Co-ed. Had been all girls for about 75 years, until the 50s. Been a pk-12 academy since just before my senior started preschool.

I hated American public school so damn much. Home school was pretty great but I look back at public school with utter contempt.
