In a world where being still, undistracted, and focused is only represented in a few of us, be mindful of passing this on to our children.
Children don’t need to be stimulated by their parents all day, filling every down time with screens and toys. Kids are loud, seek connection, and want to explore.
Low dopamine parents attempt to avoid those 3 things because it’s inconvenient to their household or themselves, so they constantly seek to distract their children with external things.
Children in this environment slowly begin to lose connection with their parents, their imagination, and their desire to explore and take risks.
You want loud, free-range children. Not children comfortable in a 10 x 10 ft square room.
Get them outdoors, in open spaces. Get rid of the screens. Take them out of daycare and public schools. Teach them to take risks.
Kids need to be bored. Let them be.
