The problem here is that some of us do not trust Google hardware either (besides funding their empire). So wouldn't something like Graphene Lite that runs on every standard Android device be a much better option than Lineage or /e/OS for most people even if it would not live up to the full standard on a Pixel? It would need to come with a warning that it can't protect against certain attacks, but at least those devices would be properly patched. Personally I would be interested in a LoRa/WiFi device only as I rarely need mobile and if I do, I can always run a hotspot from a secondary device or a mobile router like the Mudi.
