Spent EUR100 on this because I felt like it. Radical free will in action 😄 Fruits for my body, baby roses for the soul. Cherries, blueberries, strawberries, wild strawberries, watermelon… and a few tiny питомцы to keep me company. No justification needed, just joy 😇 #foodstr image

let's say i'm just a tad bit to the north in a neighbouring country. if anything, it's tiny bit more expensive. i guess i was comparing to japan for example, where everything is packaged in plastic and a lot of the stuff is imported. what do you mean by season fruits in the south? oranges, lemons etc?

Hello neighbour 🙋🏻‍♀️ I actually meant that here a lot of things are also imported, and outside of summer, the selection can feel a bit sad. But during the summer, we really do get those local forest and garden treasures. This is the first year I’m genuinely excited for summer because I finally enjoy lots of fruit and berries, something I never did before since I used to avoid sweet things completely. I didn’t crave them, probably because I drank alcohol regularly. I also had blood sugar issues, too much and I’d get anxious, too little and I’d feel faint. Now I truly appreciate the gifts of nature, not processed or chemical “food.” And I’m so grateful we don’t have that plastic-packaged, pre-cut fruit in single bites like I’ve seen abroad. It’s a real shock going into supermarkets elsewhere. Of course, plastic is hard to avoid unless you grow everything yourself or buying from your neighbour, but at least here it’s not the norm where it really doesn’t need to be 😎
