Yes I've seen this post too, to be confirmed but very interesting if it's true!
Can you recommend a non appstore apk wallet for monero that the community has vetted?
Sadly I've found it difficult to transition from btc with apps and programs with easy ui to xmr.
I'm using cake wallet, for me it's the best, simple to use, nice interface and open source :
You can download it directly on GitHub if you don't want the store ππ»
They also have a Monero only wallet if you don't want other coins.

Sorry to barge in here, but regarding to Tor, I heard that it is best to stay away because it is a βhoney potβ. I am learning all these, why do you think some people think Tor is useless?
Their criticism was that Tor, like Protonmail (and VPN), is a honey pot, that the power that be use it to collect the IDs of people who otherwise think they are protecting themselves.
I use Brave and Presearch browsers, but I hesitate for a long time to turn Tor on, simply because I am in no position to assess whether any privacy features work or not. I am not tech savvy.
Tor is decentralized and as I said ylh can build you own exit node. Where you have to trust a VPN provider you do not have to trust Tor. The argument that it is a honey pot is in that case stupid. Yes there are bad exit nodes but you can route around them.
Alright. Thank you for clarifying. I learn something everyday on Nostr and you lot. Thank you. π
