that's all it takes if you approach a conversation willing to walk away from it watching the news with your mom from a different perspective of appreciation for her and the news, will she be far more likely to equally come into an understanding about what you see in the news and what stresses you out about it. maybe she still watches the news but it is a different channel you find better researched and less sensational. as in: conversations dont go well if you are the immovable impenetrable object trying to exploit the terrain of the other party that situation is a situation between enemies. one about domination. and no one should be listening to an enemy.
