I'm not sure, will have to get back to you as I was mostly a spectator. I can say that my wife, who normally enjoys cooking and doesn't complain, didn't a point say something like "wow, this is a lot more work..."
Defo lmk. I remember after trying Julia Child's recipe, I didn't attempt it again for years lol. Now it's like, okay, there will be steps, but it is manageable. Some people do all sorts of fancy stuff, which to a very trained palette may make a difference, but I am a simple girl who just wants to eat good food and not die of exhaistion in the kitchen haha
Omg I'm pretty sure that was it, as we talked about her a bit and at some point I definitely said "can't go wrong with Julia...simple, good,..." and it was like 7 stages of prep!
She is like, buy this special cut of meat from the specialty butcher on the other side of town who is only open for two hours on Saturday, have them wrap it in cellophane lined parchment paper pressed from Canadian hardwood, and he must only tie it with pure hemp string or else your stew will be terrible lol. I will put together the simplest recipe I can and post it for y'all.
I am putting together a one-pot bourguinon where you do remove the bacon and beef but that is it. Technically, you could do it in a second pot, if you wish. No dabbing necessary lol. Should be as simple as they come.
