I’m not sure we are chatting about the same thing, or I am missing your point. My position is that zaps should not be central. The reason is because any meaningful IRL relationships I have do not involve any monetary exchange as a basis. I maintain that for nostr to grow based on relationships then zaps should be secondary or incidental. My 2 zaps šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜„

in a perfect world i totally agree with you but i believe community growth needs to be incentivised somehow. in my opinion social media "relationships" are mostly one-sided. as in many people on here know nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyehwumn8ghj7mnhvvh8qunfd4skctnwv46z7ctewe4xcetfd3khsvrpdsmk5vnsw96rydr3v4jrz73hvyu8xqpqsg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q8dzj6n, but jack knows only a handful. my argument is that for the nostr community to grow, you need many more large accounts to advocate for and use nostr. then people follow them to a new platform (or protocol); and whether this is good or bad, monetary incentives for creators are important - which could be zaps here. if the goal is to grow nostr, i am not sure how else to achieve that.
