Let's have a look at what Donetsk looks like shall we, which you have been continually shelling since 2014. (I only saw this pathetic propaganda post because nostr:npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm reposted it, a supremely intelligent Bitcoiner but a wildly clueless US imperialist.)

It’s not an invasion. It’s a completely orchestrated event to entangle the world in a global war. Russia has controlled disguise since day one you understand that means if they really were invading Ukraine, it would’ve been over in less than 24 hours. You need to overthrow your government. As do every country on this planet, they’re all organized crime syndicates not governments. We keep falling for this bullshit narrative. We’re all dead

…Russia controlled the air/sky since day one that’s total strategic advantage… not to mention there were more foreign reporters camera crew in Kyiv at the start of it, and there were soldiers in the country. You couldn’t even book a hotel room. It was so busy selling us the bullshit and using video game footage for the unthinking masses in the west. This is pure provocation. Fakery like everything else

Russia has been paying for war with oil and gas revenue – taxation – not debt. This is beginning to fail, as Ukrainian drone strikes and sanctions have been cutting into tax revenues. But it's taken years for this to happen. Countries will be able to pay for war just fine on a Bitcoin standard.

Ok, another disillusionment. I see nostr:npub1art8cs66ffvnqns5zs5qa9fwlctmusj5lj38j94lv0ulw0j54wjqhpm0w5 reposting this too. Would have expected better of him, but so many in Europe seem to be brainwashed on this issue.

Maybe let’s start from your sources of the information. Have you been there in Donetsk in 2014? We have been there and in Crimea too. Our volunteers and observers were taken as a hostages and tortured by pro-russian forces. We recorded and witnessed Russian soldiers who never hide their affiliation but their uniforms were without identification. Happy to learn about your source of the information.

Do you live in Ukraine? Or any other place with war conditions? Have tried in such places to organize anything? Im not speaking about elections even. We want to have elections but it is hard to do without electricity, water and under constant shelling and bomb attacks. Can you please clarify: do you justify l bomb attacks on peaceful cities by Russians?

Maybe you should first move from your comfortable western country and rethink your judgement after trying to do something in the authoritarian jurisdictions. We don’t need your advice how to defend our rights. You enjoy your freedoms because hundreds years ago someone gave their lives fighting for freedoms. So enjoy you laziness and use your slang words with someone else. I don’t welcome such low level of discussion.

It’s a choice, right. I love the idea of defending my country, but dying for it.. nope. War never did something good for the individual. Second of all, the war in Ukraine did not start or will end cause of action in battlefield. Some men in suits did decide and will decide it. The only thing about any war is - people are dying and that have to stop now.

nostr:npub1lr2zzf989mvf393y0tv39ara6a4vddkd6y87z784up9vl6ks6j3qtudl6a the person you are reposting here has an incredibly murky past, has some highly dubious close business associates and her 'foundation' is the very opposite of Open. I would encourage you to be more circumspect in who you choose to boost.

I’m sorry for Ukraine. It is unfortunate that she is the latest in a long line of countries and marginalized groups to fall victim to US foreign policy. We ran a coup and war was the consequence. Better to accept your fate and negotiate peace as fast as you can.

They appear to have penetrated the Bitcoin community quite successfully, and I think many are boosting them uncritically without doing the vetting that one should do with an NGO, especially from that part of the world. Peter didn't surprise me at all because I know that he is particularly unhinged on geopolitical matters. Aaron didn't surprise me so much either but yes, Joe's support was disappointing, as he is quite well traveled, particularly in the 'Global South', and usually shows more discernment.

From my pov yes. With today’s media you are able to participate in every conflict or debate around the world, but a single human brain isn’t capable of dealing with all of them in detail. So the answer to your question if I may or may not know certain details would be yes. Of course au don’t know everything thing about the situation. The only thing I know is that people are dying. Ukraines and Russians. And in my opinion this should stop.

So no even single argument from your side but just using low level conversation, repetition of the old propaganda of the authoritarian regimes against us, “warning” and shaming tactics to #bitcoin community. Is this your way for the open dialogue? Probably you didn’t do a proper research: old propaganda was dismissed in multiple countries and courts decisions. I doubt that you will read it but post it for our observers of the conversation as an important context. https://en.odfoundation.eu/foundation/attacks-on-the-open-dialogue-foundation/

Some men. We are out of the age of teenagers to think that someone is going to build a beautiful future for us. All western countries removed their diplomatic representatives on the 3rd day of the full russian invasion. This is the fact - PoW. So it proves your theory of men in suits will help by themselves as false, pure nonsense. Western countries right now are continuing to support Ukraine because of the threats of russian to the European countries and because Ukrainian people are fighting for their freedoms with a price of their lives.

"We are out of the age of teenagers to think that someone is going to build a beautiful future for us." - Thats Gold Your clearly have more information than I do. What is being done on the diplomatic side to end this war? Asking with respect.

A lot of efforts were done on diplomatic side. But for sure can be done more, especially on the accountability side for gross human rights violations and weaponization of trust granted by western governments to the authoritarian regimes. As always, there are multiple interests of many actors and it is normally those who has more determination, more knowledge /access for the information, including ability to abuse AML /CFT global law and resources win such sides. For this reason I see a threat for the western world, in the EU particularly, - it has approach not fight, but just disappear. In the US at least some percentage of people ready to fight back for their freedoms, not being colonized.

Nobody is fighting for politicians. Soldiers perfectly aware about the level of corruption and annoyed by it. Soldiers defend their families, cities, streets, schools, neighborhoods. They defend their memories from childhood and future for their children. Politicians for the moment more concentrated on their wealth and trades. Bitcoiners are the same soldiers, but defending against financial repression/ slavery. They don’t stop to develop just because politicians don’t want to grant them freedoms. Bitcoiners fight for their and many others human rights and I appreciate this. This is a reason why Im defending #bitcoin too and associate myself with community. As everywhere you can have strangers who will take advantage while doing nothing, but this is true for every single community and industry/country.

I know perfectly who occupied my home in Crimea and my friends homes in Donbas, Kherson, Mariupol. I perfectly know who took over my family business, destroyed my family, killed and rapped my friend’s family members. They don’t even try to hide this. You see, you are guessing, for you exist “if”. For me I have enough evidences both from the first hand of the family members and other witnesses. This war touched every single person in Ukraine. There is no doubt, no if. The aggressor is not even hiding himself. So there is no if at all.

As someone who is more sidelined than you in that topic, I wouldn’t say anything against that. To the second part: I agree as well, but the difference is that as a bitcoiner you don’t stand against bullets, guns and tanks in a battlefield. Same concept tbh, but it need to different kinds of men. But speaking in general, you’re right. Wish you all the best lyudmyla!

The aggressor is very clear - it is the US/NATO. They used your country to fight a proxy war against Russia as they have used so many countries before. They don't care that your country is being ruined and so many Ukrainian men are being kilked; indeed they are quite happy about it because they hold no love for your country (unlike many, many Russians). You are a fool lost in hate and delusion and your path will continue to be very painful until you start to perceive who has tricked and betrayed you.

Seems like a standard family syndicate-run foundation - money laundering accusations and all. I wonder why they are associating with the Bitcoin community, though. An easy win for critics to point to them and paint the entire field as criminals. Also the continued business dealings in occupied Crimea is a hoot. If true, talk about the fake anti-Russia outrage. Only confirms the age old reality that economic interests trumps everything else. Don't tell Peter, though 😆 Not sure why they didn't just make a new foundation after this: "Shortly after co-establishing ODF in 2009, founder Ivan Sherstyuk defrauded an investor of $100,000 in 2010 under the guise of opening a psychological center. After the victim reported the fraud to the Ukrainian authorities, Mr. Sherstyuk was convicted by Frankivskyi District Court of Lviv City for fraud as well as ordering the murder of the victim’s husband. ODF has claimed the foundation and its leadership ceased all contact with Mr. Sherstyuk in 2011." Human rights, they say.

I see you guys live in the club of adoration: don’t provide any facts, jumping out from the initial topic of conversation because of lack what to say in defense of your position, and repeat endlessly old propaganda/nonsenses dismissed multiple courts in different jurisdictions. So do you have evidences from Donbass, have you been there at the moment of Russian occupation? Let’s comeback to the discussion where you started.

There are too news: 1) I don’t think they stupid. They have an agenda. Since they don’t respond on my questions about merits, but jumping from the one topic to another topic of discussion. It is very well known technique of manipulation. 2) #nostr scales from #bitcoin bubble only. It is good but it also means bringing new challenges like bad actors/manipulators, infiltration of the community, etc. Regimes will try to take advantage of bitcoin, nostr and its potential. We need to be ready to respond to this.

There's no discussion about "positions" - frankly you people are very hard to talk to. Do you deny the west's involvment in the maydan chaos in 2014, their N-th violent regime change in recent history? If you do, I wish you the best, but your obvious propaganda is hilarious. Only npcs and useful idiots still fall for these kid stories. You cannot rewrite history, the internet remembers it all. If you truly cared about human rights in the context of Bitcoin, you are free to donate to the many great and innovative FOSS projects in this space. Satoshi didn't give a shit about AML regulations - asking for permission is not how you free yourself from opressors.
