We finished harvesting our butternut squash this week. It's getting too hot and humid here for them. The heat stress weakened them and the bugs and humidity wreaked havoc on the vines. If we had Seminole pumpkins, we'd be all set! Our native squashes tolerate and even thrive in our Subtropical summer☀️ For now, we'll enjoy the butternut. I'll set out Seminole pumpkins this fall and we'll be good to go for a while. We got about 22 squash this season. They averaged about 1.5 - 2 pounds each. image
