PSA, nostr doesn't fix this. If you're in the UK, you should be using a foreign VPN or Tor and if you've already tied your npub to personal details e.g. name, personal photos, kyc wallet, personal website; you should seriously consider burning and starting with a new keypair. There is an assumption, based on the poor policing of crime in the UK that they are bumbling fools, however you will find they are surprisingly competent at detecting and prosecuting the "crimes" and "criminals" that they consider to be their enemies. You have no idea what beliefs will be criminalised tomorrow, next month or next year. Stay safe. image

Its both really. Nostr fixes this because it doesnt force you to expose your ID. But your also right that in order for that to work in a country with a lot of prosecutions for thought crimes that you should also turn on the tor feature of amerthyst or use a third party vpn / tor client of choice.
