In July, the US government collected roughly 1/3 of a trillion dollars in taxes. That same month, it spent roughly 3/4 of a trillion dollars, leaving a $432 billion deficit in July alone. Annualized, that’s a deficit of more than $5.1 trillion. The math ain’t mathin’.
