Only 3% of oral probiotics make it to the lower intestine. What's worse, tons of folks with slow motility find that the oral probiotics colonized their upper intestine, causing SIBO (a nightmare). The risk/return is really bad, yet millions of people take oral probiotics every day. πŸ™ƒ Solution: take probiotics as a suppository, ensuring 99% survival directly into the colon. #Buttsicle #Peatstr

The logic might hold up but I refuse to shove something up my backside πŸ™ƒ
A really common rule of thumb is to do what your ancestors did. So your choices are putting fermentation items in your ass.. (other than OP numerous posts, im not even aware of this option) β€”Orβ€” you could just eat less processed foods and increase ferments. SIBO is often a completely different bacteria type that belongs deep in the large intestine. It happens over time because of a highly processed diet with too much sugar. I do agree that probiotic supplements are a waste of time/money. Stomach acids kills most or all with no benefit. If you want to nudge your gut biome in the right direction, eat fermented fibrous vegetables that can hide in the fiber and get into the gut. πŸ§‘πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ»
I don’t like kimchi either. You can make your own with any vegetable and any spices you prefer. giardiniera is an store bought alternative but ypu can literally pick anything you do like, add a salt, vinegar or sugar brine and let it sit out a few days. My son will eat beets and jalapeΓ±s so we do that quite often.
fermenting vegetables is so dead simple. some are easier to do than others tho. the cabbage especially tends to already have the good seed bacteria on it so all you need is a little salt and vinegar. the vinegar helps by favoring the good bacteria, as some vegetables have other funky things in them that prefer alkaline water. most tap water is moderately alkaline, from 8-9 or so
What are your thoughts on drinking kombucha, Kvass, milk kefir, water kefir, and yogurt whey everyday? Is that getting some into the intestines? Can any probiotic pill be used as suppository?
