#safebox will be one of many apps.
The core capability is the infrastructure underneath, called 'Acorn' - that's what #safebox uses and will be open for other apps to use.

Oh nice, I didn't realize that! Is there a repo somewhere I could check out?

Right now safebox and acorn are joined at the hip. When I get to feature complete status, I will break out acorn into its repo.
Safebox will continue as an app, but others will be free to build on Acorn.
