I can't explain the joy of buying used vehicles from Florida while living in the mid west.
If you know what I mean, you'll understand the beauty of this picture. It's about seven years old. I bet the rotors are just going to slide right off 🥲
I've read that Toyota does a decent job with rust but I just might do more since we plan to keep this thing indefinitely. I'll have to look into brake components though. Im unsure if those are coatable like the underbody. Honestly I'm okay with just replacing those. It's the frame and shit I care most about but the ease with which this stuff came off makes me want to cry. I was beating on our 2014 Altima like a crazy gorilla recently because everything was basically rust welded lol
I have a tattoo for lack of a better term from a car repair. Rusty bolt broke and I punched a part that was coated in black oil from a leak. It has faded but the dark coloration is still in the scar many years later.
Imagine living in a place where you don't even need to own broken bolt tools. Meanwhile back in salt states I once broke 9 of 16 header bolts in one job.
